It’s September. WOW. CRAZY. Usually September is that month which rolls in and spells the coming of Fall with hot days and cool nights!  Yet, this month has already been upended by hurricane Harvey, fires, flooding, and now Irma.  Harvey flooded food warehouses in Houston and the remaining food was quickly depleted by the shelters.  Trying my hardest to stay away from the “dark side” I sent a truckload of food to Houston (simply bread, veggies, and water). The people I encountered in this process were generous nice people, and loving beings.  That’s my America and it was heartwarming to feel it. Enough philosophy (but I do remind you that smiling is free). September at The Gluten Escape means Rosh Hashanah (September 20). Please order your round holiday challah early and let us know if you’d like raisins or not. ($12.49.) The first day of Fall (Autumn) is September 22. That means the start of PUMPKIN EVERYTHING. We know you’ve been anxious and we’ll bring back pumpkin scones, muffins, donuts, cakes, bundt cakes, ETC. In October, watch for Halloween cookies and cupcakes….oh my! I’ll be reading candy ingredients to try and help! If you want smaller sugar cookies for parties order them early.  (6/$9.99). We’ll do our best. And then November. Woosh. Holiday Schedule: July 4, 2017. Greetings! Happy late June.  We are galloping towards July! We are generally closed the entire week following July 4th to allow us to breathe before we race through the holidays.  (This year the Fourth of July falls on a Tuesday, which makes our schedule wonky.) We will be in full production through Saturday, the 1st when we will close at 5 p.m. We will be closed for July 2, 3, 4, and 5. PLEASE order early. 303-694-9999. Greetings! Ahhh, June.   Weddings, Father’s Day, Denver’s Greek Festival…Yup, grilling season is OPEN. Father’s Day?? Please place your orders early for fun treats with Dad! Or fire up the BBQ Grill… Our dog/burger buns are formulated to be split and toasted on the grill alongside everyone else’s.  You can have the whole experience of da’ grill! Hot in the kitchen? We’ve added a new section called “Tips for Baking Gluten Free”.  If you have questions about baking at home feel free to submit them to theglutenescape@gmail.com.  I’ll do my best to answer them! Tip for Baking Gluten Free: All about texture! Want to avoid that gritty texture in gluten free items?  EASY SOLUTION: Don’t use or purchase products with white rice flour.  Bonus: White rice flour has little to no nutritional value (and no fiber) so avoiding it will generally help increase the nutrition of your gluten free choices.  How do we make our product textures? We blend 6 flours (and none of them are white rice flour). Our blend is now available for purchase. Our chocolate cake recipe is on the bag. (Our blend is a cup-for-cup substitute, but allows you to control the texture with simple xanthan gum directions.) We filled every preorder. Your planning allowed us to serve our new tribe members and many walk-in customers. To our new tribe members our main message is: PLEASE ORDER EARLY. Thanksgiving dinners are consistent from home to home.  The upcoming holidays have much greater variety. Variety is the spice of life but it has its own challenges for your team at The Gluten Escape. Due to the complexity and variety of these holiday foods please don’t count on walk-in inventory. Remember we have gift cards.
