Directions for Thanksgiving holiday items 2017

Take and Bake Monkey Bread First, your Monkey Bread needs to thaw. It will thaw in the refrigerator overnight, or for 6 (or so) hours on the counter. When thawed, it needs to come to room temperature.  Remove the plastic wrap and plastic top, and place the pan out on the counter uncovered. In general, an uncovered pan will come to room temperature within 30-60 minutes. (It depends on room temperature.)  Touch the black pan. If it feels cold the Monkey Bread is not warm enough to bake. (Be patient.) Wait until it is only slight chilled. The yeast will start to activate and the top pieces of the Bread will start to crack (and rise).  Once you see them crack and rise turn on the oven to 375 degrees. NOTE: This product will not double in size but it will rise vertically a ¼ – ½” above the edge of the pan.  Your Monkey Bread will continue to rise as it bakes. When the oven reaches 375 place the uncovered pan on a cookie sheet in the middle rack of the oven. Bake to an internal temperature of 195, or for 45 -50 minutes.  When it comes out of the oven immediately invert the pan onto a plate for serving.  Drizzle and serve warm. September without gluten, dairy, soy, peanut, egg (!) And our vegan meatless options

It’s September. WOW. CRAZY. Usually September is that month which rolls in and spells the coming of Fall with hot days and cool nights!  Yet, this month has already been upended by hurricane Harvey, fires, flooding, and now Irma.  Harvey flooded food warehouses in Houston and the remaining food was quickly depleted by the shelters.  Trying my hardest to stay away from the “dark side” I sent a truckload of food to Houston (simply bread, veggies, and water). The people I encountered in this process were generous nice people, and loving beings.  That’s my America and it was heartwarming to feel it. Enough philosophy (but I do remind you that smiling is free). September at The Gluten Escape means Rosh Hashanah (September 20). Please order your round holiday challah early and let us know if you’d like raisins or not. ($12.49.) The first day of Fall (Autumn) is September 22. That means the start of PUMPKIN EVERYTHING. We know you’ve been anxious and we’ll bring back pumpkin scones, muffins, donuts, cakes, bundt cakes, ETC. In October, watch for Halloween cookies and cupcakes….oh my! Holiday Schedule: July 4, 2017. Greetings! Happy late June.  We are galloping towards July! We are generally closed the entire week following July 4th to allow us to breathe before we race through the holidays.  (This year the Fourth of July falls on a Tuesday, which makes our schedule wonky.) We will be in full production through Saturday, the 1st when we will close at 5 p.m. We will be closed for July 2, 3, 4, and 5. PLEASE order early. 303-694-9999. Greetings! Ahhh, June.   Weddings, Father’s Day, Denver’s Greek Festival…Yup, grilling season is OPEN. Father’s Day?? Please place your orders early for fun treats with Dad! Our number is 303-694-9999. If you want to go ‘out’ with Dad, check out the annual Greek Festival in Denver, June 16-18. We’ll be there with gf Kourambiedes, a Greek wedding cookie with almonds. Or fire up the BBQ Grill… Our dog/burger buns are formulated to be split and toasted on the grill alongside everyone else’s.  You can have the whole experience of da’ grill! Hot in the kitchen? Try grilling a pizza on our pre-shaped crusts… we make a 12” crust and carry a dynamite dairy free cheese… I grill mine on a barbecue setting.  Wedding Season is upon us??
